Camping in May

So, way back in the middle of May, our family did some camping with some of my siblings and their families, and my parents.  We went to Rose Creek Campground, south of Young, and it was a pretty spot with a little creek, but very chilly at night.  I took pictures with my dad's camera, and it wasn't till my parents visited me this last week, that I was finally able to download them to my computer.  So here's some pics from our camping experience:

Kate with one of many caterpillars that she caught.  There were a lot of these little guys around, and all the kids (with maybe an exception of Lissy) was capturing them and holding them.

 Kira with her caterpillar

The girls crossing the creek, which gave Jim a heartattack (well, not seriously), but it was a little nerve-wracking to watch. I guess we're worryworts -- Jim worse than me, though...

 Hanging out with Grandma

Grandpa entertained the girls by playing hangman with them on his Ipod. Here he is trying to guess a word they thought up for him.

And here they are trying to guess his word.

Crossing a big puddle in the road

Lissy, with her cousin Daniel.  Daniel is a year older than Lissy, and the two of them played really well together.  I observed them one time: Daniel was helping Lissy up a small incline and held her hand.  Lissy looked really pleased afterwards, but I noticed that Daniel looked at his hand and wiped it off.  Ha ha

Our tent -- a new one that sleeps 10, and we can actually stand up in.  It worked out pretty well, till the 2nd night when we left the flaps open during the day, and by evening had hundreds of flies (and various other bugs) inside the tent.  Two of my children (Brynna and Kira) refused to sleep in the tent, and so we had to farm them out to another tent, and car. Fun fun.

Hanging out with Rob and Cristeen.

A picture of all of us who went camping, except for Rob who was out riding his bike, and Grandpa taking the picture.
